Hello,

My dog has been diagnosed with Heart Murmur and the doctor also says that its a case of heart expansion. He should not get too excited because thats when he starts making those deadly noise which sounds like coughing. From the sound he makes it looks like stage 5 or 6.

I am really worried as yesterday night he went on with those noises for almost 3 hours and I almost didn't know what to do to calm him down except give him the daily dose of the medicine the vet recommended.

My dog is a 10 year old spitz.

Any one experienced in this issue, please provide me some inputs.

I just got a puppy with a heart murmur and I hope she will be fine. I am taking her to my vet next week to have her checked out. The breeder I got her from sent me two pictures of two different dogs and out of the two I had to pick her. After I picked her the breeder took her for her 1st check up, she found out the the puppy had a heart murmer, the breeder was honest with me about it she felt that she could not charge me for the puppy, that I still wanted her she would give her to me. I felt there was a reason that I picked her. I lost my dog in October and I just feel that my late dog sent this one to use and I just hope that she will grow out of it like most do.
I hope your dog will be fine. Your dog has lived a full life even though I know it is not an easy thing to go through. I went through pure hell with my dog the week that she died, I had to force feed her pick her up to take her out to potty, I drove 15 miles one way to come home for lunch to check on her. I know what it's like to have to see your pet suver. Good luck and my prayers are with you.

I don't have any experience with stuff like that, but I have been doing a lot of reading on what "chemicals" will do to any animal. I have 10 dogs and I use all natural remedies. The site where I purchase everything also provides FREE consultation via phone. Wouldn't hurt to give them a listen. Good luck and I hope your darling gets some comfort!

Your dog is 70 yrs. old in dog years and is lucky to have lived that long with a heart murmur. Maybe your vet needs to change his medication or the dosage.

talk to your vet, if you haven't already, about cardiac ultrasound. That is the best, and really only, way to find out about his heart function. There are specialists who deal in heart disease. It can be pretty expense, but it can also help give you more time with your pup.

Have you taken your dog to a Cardiologist (heart specialist vet) ? That is exactly what I did for a dog of mine. Good luck.
