manual or auto? it's different. Auto is 5,000lbs manual is less because of clutch wear.

Jeep W/6 Cylinder Engine 5000LBS.
I have towed higher weight ratings with my jeep with no problems but I wouldn't do it for a very long distance. That's what a full size truck is for.
Transmission doesn't matter, both transmissions would be capable of the same load. The weight ratings also depend on what equipment you have installed to tow with. A factory installed receiver with equalizer hitch is what you need to be able to tow the maximum tow rating on the vehicle.
Note: When towing do not use cruise control or overdrive.

5000 #'s ...........IF it a FACTORY towing package, if it's an after market it may be limited to the manufacturer of the kit!
