When I put the car in reverse, nothing happens, it doesnt even seem like the trany wants to grab. Do you have any idea of what could be causing this. I already tryed changing the transmission fluid, but that didnt do nothing.

do you have 1st gear if yes than you probably need a low/reverse solenoid or circuit which is causing the low reverse clutch not to operate giving you reverse

I had a 95 neon, and sometimes ther was this thing that popped off that would keep it from going into reverse, pop the hood, and have someone jiggle the stick, look for the rod that is moving , there should be a circle at the end of the rod, the circle should be hooked on to something, sorr I dont know the name, but it changes the gears, ya cant miss it. if it's off the put it back on and try, this is of course if you have a 5-speed. other wise your tranny is going out

Yes, you need a new transmission, but it's more worth it in my opinion to trade in the car for a new after it's fixed up. The same thing happened to a chrysler i had, and it was horrible getting the car out with the gears grinding when we had it dragged out. good luck.

The transmission is gone. you have to replace the transmission. there isn't anything you can do at this point, except park in places where you can drive out.
