If you can prove an answer to either of those questions, I'll give you ten points! Humanity has been trying to answer them for several millenia and will likely try to for many more.

Probably not, since all physical occurrence so far appear to be explainable by physical laws. And if there is a higher power and it doesn't care, meaning that it leaves our universe alone, then why does it matter if it exists or not? It may as well not and save us the trouble of speculating.

If you mean, does God (assuming one exists) care about protecting the planet from global warming, it sure doesn't seem that way. I mean, surely an all-powerful being could have arranged it so that Gore beat Bush - just fix a few of those "hanging chads", I figure. And, with Gore in the presidency, I have to believe the goverment would give environmental issues a lot more attention.

I'm sure we'd all like to think so on both questions. but the stark truth of the matter is that, much like the tooth fairy, Bigfoot, the Easter bunny, and compassionate conservatism, god does not exist.

Yes there is....and yes he cares... BUT he cares so much that he wants to teach us to live right..and not swoop in and fix everything for us.. . He is the eternal Father..... the quintessential tough love originator....
