It hurts a lot for like 3 minutes then the stinging dies down. The results will have you coming back for more though!

It's definitely not like getting a massage. You will feel some pain, so try taking Advil an 30-45 min before you go...or a margarita will help too-if you are over 21.

The top definitely hurts the most, that's why most women leave the landing strip. Most people think the loose skin hurts the most, but it really doesn't. As long as the esthetician knows what they are doing, you'll survive. A good esthetician will apply pressure to the area after she pulls the strip. Applying pressure helps with the pain and redness.

Since it's your first time, you will be kinda red. You may even see some spotty bleeding, but that is TOTALLY normal. Make sure you do not go tanning before or after the wax. Wear a thong that you won't mind getting a little messy. Some estheticians will let have you leave it on, some will make you take it off and give you a towel to cover up a little, and some will leave you naked...just be prepared for anything.

My suggestion is for you to call the spa and make sure the girl you are with is experienced. Just ask the front desk. Hopefully they will be honest with you.

If you are having it done by someone who knows what they are doing its painful but tolerable. I do hope the salon uses hard wax and not cloth strips. Hard wax clings to the hair and not the skin. The temperature of the wax and the size of each area being epilated are also factors. The center upper area is the most painful. That's why most women leave the "landing strip." Good luck and bite the bullet.

It will hurt but the pain is tolerable. If you have ever waxed you armpits, the pain is pretty similar. The longer the hairs are, the more it will hurt. I recommend you trim the hairs short, but not too short or else they will not come out. You probably want them to be shorter than 1/4 of an inch. Good luck and hope this helps!!

I've had plenty and they are great, you won't regret it. My best advice would be to trim down before you go. It really hurts if you have long hair, its also harder for the waxer to pull out so it takes longer. It's not that bad if you trim, trust me, the first time I had one done I thought the part that hurt most was on my 'lower stomach' rather than 'down below'. The skin felt tender til the next day, but make sure you exfoliate and use tea-tree lotion, ingrown hairs can be a bi-tch (on that note, don't ever shave, worst painful, itchy ingrowns of my life). Go regularly (don't wait for it to fully grow back), that way it'll hurt less every time. Find somewhere that makes you feel comfortable.

The initial rip does hurt, but only for a min. The most sensitive spot is the bikini area. That hurt the most. Afterwards it will tingle a bit, but it is so worth it never to shave again!

Good luck!

It is painful but you can take it! trust me it's worth it. make sure that you do not get it done right before your period because that is when it hurts most. try to schedule for a few days after. also remember to take an advil/asprin about 30 mins. before you go.

* after this you will be addicted, luckily it gets easier each time you go. =)

It will hurt REALLY bad, but once it's over, there's no more pain, and the smoothness is totally worth it. Get ready for 15 minutes of extreme pain.

In my opinion, waxing is a waste of money and time. Pubic hair actually serves a purpose of keeping unwanted particles out of your vagina. Removing it takes away one of the body's natural lines of defense.
