If she's transferring the money to you, make sure you know her real well before you give her any account information. There are a lot of scams going on right now with people saying they'll transfer you money from Africa so they can get your account number. Make sure you know this person.

If you need to send the money to her, a wire transfer will be the fastest, cheapest and most secure way to do this. Western Union does not guarantee deliveries internationally, as far as I know. Get her account number, account title, bank name, bank SWIFT Code (it's an international routing number, usually 8 letters/numbers). Take this info into your Chase branch and they'll wire the funds out for you for about $50 flat. International delivery time will vary, because her bank is involved too, but will normally not take much longer than a couple of days to a week.

How good of a friend is she and why can't she withdraw money? If she is legitimate then could call Chase and ask them for assistance. They are very helpful. I have several accounts with them.
I fear that she may be an internet scammer that is telling you a story in order to get your account number then will be able to access your account and create alot of damage for you along with robbing you blind. By the way, Nigeria is well known as the Scamming Capital of the World.

I would consider working with the airline to get the friend a ticket. If you use Western Union to send money it is very expensive and there is a possibility of someone else doing an ID theft and stealing it in Nigeria.

You should not do anything. You should not give your account number to anyone in Africa because they scam people in the US. They will start taking money from you. Even if it is your friend, I wouldn't trust anything. Be cautious and find a different way.
Good Luck

do you really know this person? or have you just been talking over the internet?
here in WV where I live, every bank has up signs warning about scammers that try to get you to send money overseas.
this money really goes to help terrorists.
i have had 3 people that tried it with me. they got my e-mail when i tried to sell a playstation on-line. then they wanted to send me more money then i asked for if i would just western union the rest over seas.
be very careful here, that you do not get taken.--or worse yet--you get in trouble with the FBI for sponsoring terrorist activity.

you have got to be kidding.

It is a scam. Don't give out any personal or financial information to anyone in Nigeria.

There is a whole web site devoted to Nigerian money scams.

I hope this is really your friend. There have been many scams from Nigerian "friends" that need money to leave the country.
