first of all use the best of all products, www.sebastian.com is the top of the line....you say thick and shoulder length, look for an expensive hair dresser, one that has been around for a while....fifty bucks would be normal for a haircut...and style....she would probably use a razor to cut the massive hair, being 13 means your harmones are just kicking in, so your hair would be at it's most fluffiest....remember, if you get this expensive haircut you'll only get it about four times a year, and aren't you worth it? Plan your beauty, and get a baby sitting job or dog sitting job so you can work on being independent....our looks are our calling cards for the future and today....step into the unknown, let the pretty you step up to the plate....good luck

When you wash your hair use plenty of conditioner. Then use a hair straightener to lower the poof. If you buy an anti-poof gel apply it after straightening. Get side-swept bangs that barely cover your eye. You can also put it in a ponytail or get a beautiful barrel curl perm. You can get your hair the way you want it I promise. I have the same problem and it gets better everyday with these tips. Could luck!!

If you want to loose abit of the bulk and bland look you may have you should try a layering cut depending on your face shape bangs can also ad an awsone look with a wispy cut if your hair curly then layers will helpmake your curls lighter so you can infuse the curls dont be shy embrace them. hope that helps a little.

i am twelve, turning 13 in september... i have black, but these work as well for you:

tye hair in ponytail, then will a big butterfly clip, clip it to your head... its soo hott

then side tie.. just tie your hair on the side..

(i have same type of hair, but mines very straight, ive never straighened, so this doest work for me)

take like a chopstick type stick adn wrap your hair around it. then tuck the stick in you hair.. its a hott one 2....

good luck, message me for more.. hard to explain but pics are great....
GOOD LUCK :)

it mostly depends on your hair type and your face shape.
you should maybe google it?
www.google.com
look at ways people have it..
messy bun is really common! but it looks pretty good.
half-up do looks really pretty and flirty
leave it down and make it a little bit crimped..
