Do credit Bureaus really give any concern if your credit is messed up or not. Do they even now what they are doing?

Credit bureaus know what they are doing. The main problem with them is that the agent you talk with on the phone basically is untrained and unable to comprehend how to solve the issues you may have. Credit bureaus never had to deal with this prior to people being allowed to see thier credit reports. I am not really surprised that they were against it. But in todays modern computer age id theft is tops on the crime list and growing rapidly. So now consumers have a chance to fight back and create more work for the bureaus.
So the answer is they know what they are doing to blow you off as much as possible. They do in fact make errors, which is understandable with the high rate of data the input daily. Lately they have gotten somewhat better at the accuracy of information. But no more then they have to. It takes persistance and a get tough attitude with them. Don't bother with phone calls as they really don't care. Phone calls are the first step in blowing a consumer off.
Research your claim and send all correspondance certified. Only if you follow the FTC and fair credit report act and show them the errors of there ways will issues you have get resolved.
Otherwise they will do as little as possible.

Credit bureaus DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!

I am having a long drawn out battle with all 3 of them. Someone with the same date of birth and name as I has crappy credit & their info is on MY report. (It's not i.d. theft.) Their address shows up on my report and as a result, whenever I try to pull my report online, the credit bureaus won't give me my info because they say "the address you provided doesn't match our records."
So I'm ALWAYS having to send in proof of where I live.

I once ordered my credit report thru the mail....they sent me someone else's.

And you have to ask if they know what they're doing......

No, they don't care if your credit is messed up. They allow you to dispute incorrect items, because they are required to by law. Be assured, they don't put much effort into any of it.

They make their money from the creditors that report to them. Correcting incorrect items and removing them from people's credit reports, cost them money. The more messed up your credit is, the more money they make. Like everything else, it is a big racket.

I think they know what they are doing. You have to keep one thing in mind in dealing with them. They pretty much work for the collection agencies and creditors. It is in the best interest for them to have negative items on your report as it lowers your score and allows the companies to charge you higher interest rates. They will only follow state and federal guideines when dealing with your rights and thats only if you inform them that you know what your rights are (when writing letters and such). The CRA's aren't your friends. Remember that
