I started cutting at your age too. I'd suffered from deppression for 3 years prior. It's hard, but you got to stop. Try using a rubber band when you feel bad. At least it won't cut you. Try ripping something up. You need to tell someone...a friend, a family member. Maybe one of those hotlines...they could call your parents for you. It wasn't easy on me either...still isn't. It's like being an alcholic. Theres days I still want to, but I don't. I know a lot of people who care for me would be dissapointed. Think of your loved ones and please don't cut. Take care and God bless

I'm a nurse. I would see a doctor for this problem. I also write down my feelings a lot. Write down good things about yourself. Tell someone you can trust for support. I'm a Christian and if you can't tell anyone tell God. I will be praying for you. Ask Jesus into your heart for support. Now don't think that once you accept Jesus as your personal savior that your problems is over. What will happen is that when you have troubles and problems like this he'll be with you every step of the way. Watch this and know that you are loved by all your friends and God. www.mayyoubeblessedmovie.com Things will get better soon, nothing stays the same in life nor does trouble and pain last always. You are depressed and write down your feelings to find out why. Take care Kina

You definately have a mental disorder, and you need help. Something is also bothering you, something that you wish you did not have to have as a reality. I do not know what it is because I do not know you...but I do know enough about cutting to where it is a serious sign of depression, and it may lead to suicide. My advice is to talk to your parents before you go to a therapist. Parents understand and feel what you are going through. Perhaps they will be able to discover what is wrong with you...parents know much more than we give them credit for. But I do know this; crying yourself to sleep every night is no way to live...I have done that before. Other are there to help you, you must realize that. I am perhaps on the other side of the world, and already I have compassion and empathy for you, because I have had cases of depression as well. What helped me was realizing that the world isn't full of badness...it has goodness in it as well. But we've got to find it, and the first place to start is by talking things out with the people that you love. Just ask, they will help you.

Call an anonymous help line like 1-800-DONT-CUT. You can talk to someone you don't know and get some guidance and understanding from people who have been through it. You're on the right path by even asking this question.

Please call, honey. Don't hurt yourself anymore, you can find other ways to release the pain. Good luck!

My daughter is a cutter. She didn't want anybody to know, either. I told her...how are we going to get help if we don't tell anyone. The best thing I EVER did is tell....they gave her a pill (Risperdal), and it was like a MAGIC pill....she hasn't cut ONE time in over a year! The down side to the pill is that it makes her hungry....WHO CARES??

It was the best thing we ever did....we talked to the pediatrician...someone who knows us both well, and we trusted her.
We also talked to the school nurse, another dear and trusted friend, and someone that my daughter can talk to if she doesn't feel like she can talk to me.

Talk to someone....there IS help out there!!
Don't wait!!

Stress and feeling better when relieving stress. It's no different why girls force themselves to throw up called bolemia.

You have to find a physical thing to do as you may be a natural born athlete who needs to get out and move and it's coming out as cutting to relieve stress that you are not getting out naturally.

Join sports and or dance or something that involves intense concentration mixed with competitive fun. It will help to curb your cutting to wanting to just relax naturally without freaking out.

The only person that can help you is yourself. I'm not being mean but its true, I've been there. The only way that this can stop is for you to go some where that offers mental health help. Maybe go to your school counselor and have them set an appointment for you to go to see some one that can help. That's what I did.

Tell your parents. They want what is best for you. They should take you to your dr. who can refer you to a good psychiatrist
You need help now. It will only get worse.

Why don't you find an alternative to cutting. Something safer but it feels just as good?
