I am a well known DJ in my area and have been asked to do a high school formal. My girl friend, who i have been with for just about 2 years, has invited me to go with her to the dance. She doesn't want me to DJ, but i would like to. The school was my first client as a DJ and they are also my biggest, and i don't want to lose them by telling them i can't do it then show up at the dance. I don't know what to do i'm torn between the two. Please help.

The most important thing is to be honest with your girl. Tell her how you feel , I mean you are together all the time , and can go out any other time . Work is important and your girl has to understand that , how else you are going take her out ? You need money right ? She can hang out by your side while you DJ.

Sometimes girlfriends are wrong, and I think this is one of those times. If you had a different job, would she dare tell you what customers you could and couldn't have?

There's the larger question, of course, about what's more important to you -- your work or your relationship. Really though, you should wonder about any woman who insists on getting in the road of your job.
