i cut them and a week later they look like huge. only my granpa's growed like that. anyone know why?

You're lucky! I haven't realize that in my whole life. I just can't stop cutting my fingernails with my teeths.
Your fingernails grow fast because you have a lot of calcium in your body. I think that you should stop eating those things that contain calcium in order to stop your fingernails grow so fast.

Nails grow faster during certain hormonal fluctuating periods, as in the beginning of pregnancy, or just before menstruation. Fingernails are made of dead skin and since your skin dies quickly and constantly it just keeps coming. I'm scientifically guessing that the dead skin just pushes up, causing them to grow. But, everyones do grow at a different rate. Plus, it depends on how you treat your nails.

Fingernails have the same material as your hair , and it will grow with the same consistency and there is nothing you can do to slow them down , so just get over it and keep then neat .

OK it's kind of weird but It's is actually a theory that skin,fingernails toenails are in fact dead skin.
