We've come to the end of this little story. Look carefully at the photographer.
He has a camera, a tripod and also a plastic bag, all on his shoulder or in his left hand.
Only his right hand is available to grab the rock and the weight of his stuff is a problem.
He lands low on this flip flops both his right hand and right foot slips away...
At that moment I take this shot.
He pushes his body against the rock.
He waits for a few seconds, throws his stuff on the rock, climbs and walks away.

You are probably talking about the hoax email floating around that shows a person jumping across a deep 'chasm' at the Grand Canyon.
While the photos themselves are real, it is misleading, because although the angle the picture was taken at makes it look like the person is jumping over a long drop, in reality the littel rocky 'nob' that the leaper starts from is connected to rim and the drop that he is leaping is one of 10-15 feet at most (not the 800 meters claimed in some versions of the email).
