Benny's right. Surefire is the "CSI" flashlight. The bulbs and batteries are kind of expensive compared to mere mortal flashlights, but the light output is phenomenal. You canuse it as a weapon, as it will temporarily blind someone. Go to Surefire's web site (www.surefire.com) and you will be astounded at the assortment. The "classic" is the 6P, but you can get identical performance from the $36 G2. It is made of a really tough plastic and uses the same bulbs and batteries as the 6P. This is what I keep in my car. I used to keep the 3-D-cell MagLite, but this fits in the glove box and is so much smaller and brighter. I carry the 6P in my pocket. Actually, if you buy the batteries by the dozen, the cost is not unreasonable. Also, you will find some reputable dealers on eBay (check and READ feedback) selling Surefire flashlights, bulbs and batteries. Browse the Surefire site, though. You can spend an hour or more there.

I use a Surefire C2 Centurion. Cost about $100, very small, puts out a very bright beam. Uses Surefire batteries. I am satisfied with it.
