Question

Why do pesky scientists keep finding mountains of evidence to support an old earth?

Today's Reuters article shows that humans were migrating 35,000 years ago.......Is this a "conspiracy" against christianity or do you think that maybe, just maybe these scientists are merely reporting the facts?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An ancient skull from South Africa and carved tools and ornaments from Russia paint a rare picture of the time when modern humans migrated out of Africa to colonize Europe, researchers reported on Thursday.
The two reports in the journal Science link the far reaches of Europe to southernmost Africa across a short time span of 36,000 years ago to 45,000 years ago.....

airhaz: please tell me you are joking. 5,000 years old??? I guess the University of Colorado-Boulder's Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research is nonsense? Please provide your "source" for this bogus 5,000 yr old claim...I guarantee it doesn't have the credibility of the source I listed.

Well, I tried to shut my eyes to the mountains of evidence for an old earth, but I live in Colorado, and I realized that I would drive off the road into some huge, 50 million year old canyon. And that would suck. Yes, it sure would suck.

Just because I find a skull and claim it is 4 billions years old does not mean its actually true.

Science is create by man. Man is not perfect. The earth is very old, The bible does not say how old it is. It could be millions of years old. But human existance is only about 6000 years old.

I don't care what a few so called scientists say. The facts are that the oldest civilazation on earth is in Iraq, Mesopotamia, which dates like 5000 years old. These are facts. Egypt dates like 3000-3500 years.

If human evolved, why isnt there civilizations older than these????

The bible is the truth. You can claim you found a skull that is 35,000 years old, but come on, do you expect to believe that?

I'm a Catholic Christian and I believe that God created the world. Maybe not in 7- 24 hour days, but He did it, whether through the big bang or whatever.

Those scientists that say that the earth is only 4,000 years old are taking the Bible too literally and are not looking at the facts. I think they're overzealous about defending Christianity. They make Christians look stupid and uneducated, which is not true.

Thanks for pointing it out and distinguishing between creationists and young earth creationists.

LMFAO. Way to go. I always feel like Christians think we are attacking them. We're not, we are just doing things. Sorry if we don't buy into a 7 day creation theory. Gee do ya think people in ancient mesopotamia maybe, just maybe, didn't understand how the world was created and came up with a story for it to help explain it to them.
