it means that she is upset about something, and she is probably getting upset with you or talking to you about it in a not so nice way. so usually when someone says sorry im venting it means they realize how rude they are probably acting, and that it was caused by some other issue

When I vent I don't mean 60% of what I'm saying. I'm just angry or frustrated and want someone to listen. I don't want them to take what I say seriously or repeat it or take action on what I'm saying (boys always think you want them to DO something when you vent...).

it means that she's letting off some of her steam, or anger. she might be sad or angry about something, and is frustrated and when she's venting, she usually goes to someone who she's known for a while, and can empathize/sympathize with her. she just talks on and on about what she's upset about, and pretty much just says everything thats on her mind. i know that i vent to my friends a lot!!! lol

It's when it takes us a long time to tell you about a whole bunch of things on our mind. We, as women, realize that men only want to hear so much talking. So, we then apologize for forcing you to have to pretend to pay attention.

Usually when someone is mad and they say that it means that you just need to talk to someone and get it all out. Not that you are mad at the person you're telling.
