Your immune system begins to not work after you are infected.
If you are asking about specific areas of the body that are affected by the virus, the areas left most vulnerable are your lungs, skin, and digestive tract. The reason for that is because those are key areas where the body comes into contact with disease causing agents which it cannot fight off. All three are regularly subjected to disease causing bugs, but your immune system routinely knocks them out if you are healthy.
