any1 who has had there tonsils out....read please!?

ok ok so i have tonsillites and it is like my 5th time getting it and incase you dont kno what that is its when your tonsils swell up hugly and turn black and it hurts all the time...any ways i got told that i have to get my tonsils out and i am very very scard so if you could just tell me what happens or like stories or somthing....please and thank you

You will probobly go in for day surgery at the most you will stay one night in the hospital. It does feel like a really really bad sore throat when you have them out, but it's not like having a baby or anything. You will start feeling better in a couple days. and yes, you get all the ice cream and popscicles you want.

Well, after I got my tonsils taken out, I was on morphine, so it didn't hurt, lol. Well, after the medicine wears off, you can't eat. It hurts pretty bad, at least mine did. For about 3 weeks I was eating chicken broth & ice cream. Sometimes it felt like I was swallowing my own throat.

I had to have my tonsils taken out when I was about 30 yrs old and of course you are going to have some pain but it really wasn't that bad...also my daugher had hers taken out when she was about 6 years old and she didnt have any complications at all. Good Luck!

ok so the older you get the worse it is to cope with it. when i got mine out i was about 5 yrs. and you can't eat solid foods which really stinks. Just to let you know it is worth getting them out because i haven't had strep throat since they have been out

I HAVE NEVER HAS MINE TAKEN OUT AND I NEED TOO BUT YOU ARE FINE YOU ARE UNDER SUPER SUPER GOOD DOCTORS AND EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE. AND IF YOU LIKE ICE CREAM THATS A GOOD THING AFTERWARDS
