My cat used to do this all the time. He brought home squirrels, chipmunks, baby birds, blind moles, rabbits, mice and once a garter snake. He would usually eat the head and bring the rest to me. I think he was sharing his catch to show appreciation for me taking care of him. He also sometimes would bring home things that were still alive and they'd get loose in the house.

that's something I quite have never seen over right here. the front door become for visitors, and that they could be led into the residing room, a room in many cases utilized by applying the mothers and fathers interior the evenings. childrens forbidden. Our get admission to become to stroll around to the decrease back of the abode and enter there, into the kitchen. generally the front door in basic terms must be opened with a key from the exterior, and a turn button on the interior, so it become constantly locked. The decrease back door become constantly unlocked and so some distance as i will bear in mind, no longer even locked in one day. The origins at the back of the turn 21 and get the biggest of the door is obscure, however the context become that once you grew to become 21 you gained the biggest to the front door, and ought to come and circulate as you extremely joyful, a demonstration of adulthood. That become the assumption I lived with interior the distinctive properties I lived in as I grew up.

Cats Love Their Owners and just like if you love someone they give you a present. A squirrel is a very hard catch so i would assume there was something wrong with it. The cat is just trying to be nice so don't scold it give it a pat and dispose of the "present" as soon as possible.

Welcome to the wonderful world of cats! I guess you've gathered that 'she loves you', by now, lol. I think they also do it because they are very proud of themselves and they also want to 'keep' it. She worked very hard to kill that squirrel and she wasn't about to just leave it behind.
They are really incredible predators and are perfectly designed, People are always amazed that I'm a man and care so much about cats, since they tend to be classified as a woman's pet. But, I see nothing 'girly' about cats. Who else but a man would bring a 'kill' home to show it off? If she could, she's have it stuffed and mount it on your wall. Just like a guy.

I'm sure by now you have been told it is a gift for you. That is basically what it is. Among the birds and mice I have been given I once found a 13 striped ground squirrel at the door that was huge and practically intact. Yum!

Yes...and it was gross, we also had a barn cat that brought back a deer leg (obviously not her kill)! Cats will bring back their prey for you for a few reasons, mainly because they love you and it's their version of a present but also if they think you are a poor hunter and want to provide for you. Congrats, and give your cat an extra treat for me...squirrels are just rats with cute outfits.

Yep! You're cat did it. She is giving it to you as a gift. I have known a lot of cats to do that. I remember one who would catch a bird, eat it and then always leave the heart at the front door for her mummy. And my sister's cat is always leaving mice and birds all through the house for her. Sometimes on a nightly basis. Yukky I know. But it's just their way of saying "Thanks!"

Of course *someone* has seen it before. When I was a child and didn't know that it's irresponsible and cruel to leave your cats outside, I was brought all kinds of wildlife. But now I'm an adult and know better than to subject my animals to the cruelties of the world and to the diseases that wild animals can transmit. Bring your cat inside. it will protect your cat *and* the wildlife.

Cat's natural instinct is to hunt, which she just brought you her prey she killed. At least it wasn't a rat!! I live out in the country and I came out one morning to find a dead rat on the porch. Another time I flipped on the lite in my bedroom to find a dead crow on the floor. So my cat is constantly trying to feed me with her little gifts. A way to fix it, is to place a bell on her collar, that way her prey will hear it and she can't be as sneaky.
