I believe it is a miniature boxer? Does anyone have one and are you happy with them? Are they easy to train and as far as temperment, we have 5 kids, ages 19 mos - 12yrs. Just looking for experiences.

There is no such breed as a Jug or a miniature boxer. Remember, lots of people with unaltered pets are trying to cash in on this unethical 'designer dog' craze that's out there right now. Don't fall victim to these scams. Only buy a pup from a responsible breeder who is a member of their national breed club and follows the AKC breeding guidelines closely. NO dog is easy to train, and with children this small running around, a mini *anything* would be a terrible idea. Go to a no-kill shelter and rescue a lab or shepherd mix.

There is no such breed. There isn't a miniature Boxer. With 5 kids and those ages I would NOT get a dog.
Dogs need a lot of attention, training and patience. It would be like having another child in the house. The dog would need constant watching while with the children. Kids tend to do bad things to dogs like tease them, pull their tails and ears, etc.
Please don't do this to a dog. And don't do it to yourself.
This would certainly be an "experience". But not one you would enjoy.

The jug is one of those new 'designer' dog breeds. Which means it is a highly priced mutt. It is a mix of a pug and a jack russell. You can get this same mix of dog from your local animal shelter, and not only save a ton of money, but also save a dogs life. Check on petfinder.com. You can type in your area and the dog you are looking for. I'm sure you will find a mix of this dog, or very similar that you find appealing.

Take Stalked by Cowards advice. A "Jug" is nothing more then a cutesy name given to a puppy bred from a Pug and a Jack Russel to entice people to buy them. Its despicable. Its just as bad to think that people are buying dogs just for the ridiculous name that pet stores are giving these made up breeds. Rescue a dog from a shelter or do your research and buy from a reputable breeder.
