Ya, try the lamb and rice dog food. My granny dog is allergic to most meats, he bites his feet/they swell etc/etc. This dog food worked on him. I don't remember the brand but I do remember it was made with lamb and rice. You buy it at most stores

Where in Uk I don't know. If you can find it try 'Natural Balance' by Van Patten. I have 2 dogs that are allergic to many things. One lost most its hair before we found what she was allergic to. The Venison and brown rice put hair on my allergic dog in about 3 weeks. It cost here about $1.30 per pound.
One thing to be cautious of is chicken and chicken fat. It is in most all dog foods, even Lamb and Rice! Read the label. Both my dogs are allergic to chicken/fat.
I have to buy it at a pet food store, not at the grocery market. I found it at Pet Supplies Plus. Many Vets use Hills Science Diet dog food-it is a poor quality-and expensive. You may can have the food shipped directly to you for no more than the vet charges.

It depends upon what your dog is sensitive to. You can buy James Wellbeloved from WCF centres, or larger pet stores. When my collie was first diagnosed with food allergies, the food suggested buying Purinas dry food with fish - salmon I think. It's not the cheapest, about £30 for a 15 kilo bag. Going extremem for food allergies, my collie is on a vegetarian diet with fish added in for extra protien. There's a website www.veggiepets.com who deliver and have a really good range of vegetarian and vegan dog food, including biscuits, treats and complete food. But be careful about putting your dog on a purly vegan or vegetarian diet as it requires careful management and I have had to add fish in to my dogs diet. She is rather extreme cause she can't tolerate any meat of any sort. What you could do is use the vegetarian food as a basis (Happidog is abou £15 - 20 for a 15 kilo bag) and then find a type of meat that your dog can tolerate, buy that from a supermarket/butcher and add it into the veg food to make sure that your dog gets the protein they need.
If it's within your budget try the purina or james wellbeloved first as they are easier to get and a lot simpler than balencing veggie food with your own suppliments

Food Allergies are difficult, the only answer I can recommend is that if the food your vet recommended is working I would stick with it. I know it is expensive, however, treating a dog with food allergies usually is. Honestly, if the food works I would stick with it.

PetPlanet sells Hills Canine Sensitive Stomach & it's currently on sale:
http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product.asp?dept_id=168&pf_id=5641&co=fr
I couldn't find it for sale in Pets At Home online - though they may have it in the store.
If you're willing to mail order it - why not try searching for it in Froogle? A couple of other sites that sell it have come up & a range of prices - not sure what any of them charge for p&p though.
Good luck

Unfortunately, it is expensive everywhere. Your vet is probably charging a fair price, but you could always look up the food manufacturer on the internet and see where it is sold.

Well you can get it a Walmart and Petco, pretty much any pet store.. My dog has skin allergies, and so we have to buy him special food without wheat flower in it.
