The Bible is compilation of inspired texts written by prophets, apostles, and men and women called of God; so is the Book of Mormon.
There is an Old Testament prophesy that speaks of two books being used as one in the latter days to testify of the divinity of Christ (Ezekiel 37) - The Book of Mormon, found and translated by a prophet called of God, is fulfillment of that prophesy.
I am surprised how many erroneously quote Revelation 22. This warning applies to John's book of Revelation and not the Bible, which had not yet been compiled. The same "don't add, don't take away" warning is also found in the Old Testament.
Any true follower of Christ would be grateful to have both the Bible and the Book of Mormon to learn from.

Most mainline branches of Christianity see the Mormon's as a cult rather than a faith as they use the book of Mormon. Which was given to Joseph Smith by an Angel and he had golden disks that he needed ruby glasses to read or some such thing like that so it has a dubious start. Plus, why would Christ tell us to go throughout the world proclaiming the good news if he himself was going to come to America and do it himself?
Now, the other is a better question. Is the Holy Bible the complete thing? That is a tricky question. First, what we call the Bible was put together by the council of Nicaea and they discarded other books that they either found dubious or did not fit with what the other more verified books were saying. Now in the Bible itself there are other records that were written or could have been written that we have never found as yet. So, maybe later the Christian faith will be tested to see if they let in another book or two when and if they ever get discovered. I lean towards no but what a neat thing to speculate on.
If I could remember some verses I would quote them, but the easiest is
1 Chronicles 29:29
As for the events of King David's reign, from beginning to end, they are written in the records of Samuel the seer, the records of Nathan the prophet and the records of Gad the seer,
And
2 Chronicles 12:15
As for the events of Rehoboam's reign, from beginning to end, are they not written in the records of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer that deal with genealogies? There was continual warfare between Rehoboam and Jeroboam.
Also,
1 Kings 15:7
As for the other events of Abijah's reign, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah? There was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
Now for the New Testament you would have to look at Paul’s writings and see that some of his letters have yet to be found and I could not think of a good way to search them out at www.biblegateway.com
Revdauphinee is mis interpreting Rev. remember the Bible as we know it was put together way after John wrote Rev. So his warning is for Rev only but I will say applies to all John's writtings. Though one should be vary carefull just the same.

The Book of Mormon's accuracy and reliability have never been verified.
The Bible's accuracy and reliability have been proved and verified over and over again by archaeological finds produced by both believing and nonbelieving scholars and scientists. This included verification for numerous customs, places, names, and events mentioned in the Bible.
One among many examples is the fact that for many years the existence of the Hittites (a powerful people who lived during the time of Abraham) was questioned because no archaeological digs had uncovered anything about them. Critics claimed the Hittites were pure myth. But today the critics are silenced. Abundant archaeological evidence for the existence of the Hittites during the time of Abraham has been uncovered.
Bible scholar Donald J. Wiseman notes, "The geography of Bible lands and visible remains of antiquity were gradually recorded until today more than 23,000 sites within this region and dating to Old Testament times, in their broadest sense, have been located." Nelson Glueck, a specialist in ancient literature, did an exhaustive study and concluded: "It can be stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverted a biblical reference." Well-known scholar William F. Albright, following a comprehensive study, wrote: "Discovery after discovery has established the accuracy of innumerable details, and has brought increased recognition of the value of the Bible as a source of History."
There are more than 24,000 partial and complete manuscript copies of the New Testament. These manuscript copies are very ancient and they are available for inspection NOW. there are also some 86,000 quotations from the early church fathers and several thousand lectionaries (church-service books containing Scripture quotations used in the early centuries of Christianity). In fact, there are enough quotations from the early church fathers that even if we did not have a single copy of the Bible, scholars could still reconstruct all but 11 verses of the entire New Testament from material written within 150 to 200 years from the time of Christ. Bottom line: The New Testament has an overwhelming amount of evidence supporting its reliability.

Is the bible the complete thing? If you read the Bible you will find there are about 22 books mentioned that are not in there. It is suprising to me that people say they believe in the Bible, yet profess there is nothing more? They suppose that because God has spoken that he cannot speak more? It doesn't make sense to me. It seems like if God is the same yesterday, today and forever that if he spoke to Propehts of old, he would speak to Prophets today.

The BOM is made up.
There are even some of the well documented and well known minor errors from the KJV plagarized into the text of the BOM!
They come to your door posing as christians, show you a Bible, but soon put that away and take out this other book. Kind of a bait and switch scheme.
Is a fungus part of the tree? Or is it the tree?
An uninformed person would not be able to tell the difference.

I guess since people want to use these verses against the Book of Mormon then I guess it would mean EVERYTHING AFTER DEUTERONOMY SHOULD BE REMOVED ALSO.
Deut 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
God talking to the Isrealites. Notice that he says YOU.
Oops! here it is again, strange that it is in the Bible TWICE.
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
God talking to John about the BOOK OF THIS PROPHECY(Book of Revelations)
If people would check their HISTORY it has been shown that Mattew, Mark, Luke and John were written AFTER The Book of Revelations, so I guess the New Testament should be thrown out also. But that point is moot with Deut 4:2.
Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
Deut 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
Now since most seem to want PROOF then please answer me this, WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT GOD CAN'T MAKE REVELATIONS THROUGH HIS PROPHETS WHICH WOULD BE THE SAME AS SCRIPTURE OR THE WORD OF GOD.
The Book of Mormon is NOT our Bible nor do we WORSHIP Joseph Smith. We do believe the BIBLE to be the WORD OF GOD. The Book of Mormon is ANOTHER TESTAMENT OF JESUS AND GOD.
But like so many have said it has been changed over the years and ONLY GOD CAN MAKE CHANGES THROUGH HIS PROPHETS. We also believe that the Scriptures are NOT closed like so many others do.

Mormon's believe in both Book of Mormon and the Bible. The Book of Mormon is accountings of what was going on in the USA with the early civilizations and what they knew of the coming of Christ. There's really no comparison of the two. The Book of Mormon makes reference to the Bible on almost every page.

The Holy Bible is the Word of God and the book of mormon is not!
The Bible is complete just the way it is.--Revelation 22 tells what will happen if someone adds too or detracts from the Bible.

i believe the book of Mormon is false teachingand is contrary to scriptur e since it has been claimed to be an addition to the bible
Revelation 22: 18. I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.
19. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
