I'm not sure how you could enforce the ban. I am an ordained minister, I don't go to church, I don't usually perform religious services (I only do this when asked by friends), in fact unless you had a machine to read my thoughts I doubt you could ever tell from my lifestyle that I follow a religion.
Some religions would be easy to spot (such as Sikhs who wear turbans to show respect towards God) but other ones are pretty hard to detect.
I doubt that it would be possible to enforce the ban even if it was passed.

Definitely Yes. You don't need to ban it.If your actions are against , your persecution will take it underground.Check out Christianity in Northern India, The whole of Pakistan, The Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia. China, Cambodia, Indonesia,Bangladesh,Afghanistan,Former Soviet states. You are right but the tense is not future, its past, present & Future. But the good thing about it is that pure christianity is the result.

Yes it would.
Religous people follow no law that limits their fantasy world and with the undergounding becomes some of the most violent persons ever to live at any particular time.
Keep it open and above ground......... at least it gives intelligent people the oppurtunity to openly ignore it.

Yes, if fact it has done before and still does today in countries which have 'atheist systems' (those who's moral systems do not refer to God) such as Communism.

Ooh yeah. I definitely think it would. There are too many people who are devout to their beliefs to just behave according to the law.
