My baby hamsters are 11 days old now and they have grown some fur. I heard that once they grow fur, their mom does not eat them. But she ate two of the babies today and they all seemed to be in perfect condition.. What are some reasons that she may have killed them?

They were most likely sick (she can tell before we can). I bred hamsters for several years and I never had any of my moms eat their young, beyond the first day or two... and generally not even then.

Okay people don't know that right when a mother hamster sees a bit of fur on her newborns shes gonna think okay now i cant eat them. Take those poor little hamsters out of that cage ASAP!!!

They are hamsters. Get over it.
Mama hamsters eat baby hamsters.
Sperate them some more if you are that worried.

well...have you fed the (mom) hamster twice the amount of food?
if not that is exactlly why she ate them.oh,and sry about the non-survivers(the hamsters)

Yuck. That makes me sick. I heard that rabbits will eat their young too. Why people want cannibalistic animals in their homes is beyond me. YUCK.

because that is what they do maybe u should get them out of there before she eats the rest and then call a vet

Man! that is so nasty but get the other babies out of that cage and get to get the point across that that is nasty I have this to say EEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!1
