Most tents at sporting goods stores are not 4 season tents, especially the larger "family" type tents. Perhaps you don't really need a 4 season tent (ability to deal with snow loads and high winds).

Stephenson makes 4 season tents, but the largest is a 5 person tent (warmlite dot com, warning some of the pictures are of nude people which is why this is not included as a link). They might be willing to make you a custom tent which is larger.

These are light weight tents, although customer service has been lacking. They also have an option for windows, which is really good in warm, humid weather.

Most tents have hooks so that you can hang a lantern, but for reading you might want to consider a headlamp (LED is best when you factor in power).

If the weight of the tent doesn't matter, look for military surplus. The ones I've seen from our higher end sporting good stores, in my opinion aren't gonna hold up throughout a year-long expedition. You'll get more for less, but i'd beware buying a used one if I couldn't check out the condition first.
