First of all, your question should read "you're" rather than "your", and you should have a comma after the words cracker and white.
My answer is No. But, I do roll my eyes over the fact that there is a "Black Family Channel". If there were a "White Family Channel" it would be considered racist.
Not to mention the fact that there is a "National Association for the Advancement of Colored People". If there were a "National Association for the Advancement of White People" it would be racist.
Or, how about the "Miss Black America" pageant? Could you imagine the uproar if there were a "Miss White America" pageant?
While we're on the subject, I also think it's ridiculous to give someone a job, admit them to a school, or otherwise compensate them just because they're black and feel it's "owed" to them because of the oppression of their ancestors.
There were white slaves too. And in some places, there still are.
Cracker in this context simply means "a poor white person in the southern U.S.". Even if I were a rich white person from New York City I wouldn't be offended, since I do not find it offensive to be poor or from the southern U.S.
Having said all that, a person can only truly be offended after being called a "name", if they somehow believe that "name" to be descriptive of who they really are.

It happened to me in Chicago. It was an angry homeless guy and he was mad because we refused to give him money. He screamed that we were 'cheap a** crackers!' I live in NYC and no one had every seriously called me a cracker like that so I was pretty surprised. Only a little offended because I know he was more angry that we didn't give him money than angry because he hated white people. My friends and I just looked at each other and said, "Did he really just call us crackers?" That's all that happened. It wasn't a big deal. We just kept walking.

Somewhat, but it really doesn't have the historical hurt and power of the N word so therefore its not big deal . As white people we have been the priveleged class forever so its not really hurtfull to me. I have mostly black friends and none of them have called me that or anyone else for that matter. We joke a little about it but not in a serious way.

Well, seeing as how I don't use the N word, yes I would be offended. Though, I probably wouldn't do anything--but I think it would be necessary to do something.
Sorry. If you want respect, you have to give it. It works both ways. I go out of my way to treat people with respect, and I demand the same in return.

No. If someone, and not just a black person called me a cracker while punching me in the face, then I would get offended.
Sticks and stones...we have all heard that one. If someone calls me any name, I probably don't like them anyway, so therefore could give a hoot about what they call me.
Make sense?

huh? your question is silly and doesn't make sense as it asks & asks again, like a question within a question. people should proofread what they write 'cause it's a sign of intelligence. what's a cracker, by the way? the only cracker i am aware of is the ones in a box or bag. if that describes you, well then... bottom line, my friend, is like the old but sure saying, 'sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me.' i got news for you, by the way. in some parts of the usa, the name cracker holds great reverance, like the deep south. if your a so-called cracker, you are in the in-crowd and taken as a compliment. so there. it sure helps to know what the heck you're talking about to make a point, warped as it is....

Yes I would be offended because the remark would have been said to offend me....what would I do? ..nothing. I don't want to ever stoop to the level of name calling.

Not at all. I'm not what you say I am. I am what I say that I am. Blacks shouldn't be offended when they are called n1g-gers. It's just a word. Nothing more.
