You didn't say how long ago that happened.

We are human just like everybody else, and no matter what our faith tells us people do lose it when they feel threatened.

And like Pinkadot says it make no difference what Religion they are. But they shouldn't have.

But if you want to ask that then what kind of person would issue an extermination order for a whole group of people just because of their Religion? That did happen in Nauvoo, Ill. The Gov. of Ill issued it and it was not removed until just recently, and if I remember right it was removed only within the last 20 years.

I forgot to add the Gov was NOT a Mormon.

Which "real life" event are you refering too???

You could say "What kind of person would drown thousands of people" - Answer: Moses

What kind of man would destroy businesses? Christ in the temple.

Context is everything. If someone walks into my house and treatens my family, I'll threaten and defend them.

It's funny that you're using Nauvoo as an example. If you remember these were Americans that were trying to live peacefully and practice their religion. They built a city out of a swamp, then into farmland. They built their homes, businesses, churches, and a temple. They were threatened, tarred and feathered, killed, and eventually driven out in the winter with their homes burning behind them. The Governer of Illinois made it legal to kill mormons of any age under any circumstance.

If that happened to me, I'd be doing everything in my power to protect my home, wife, family, and city...and I probably wouldn't stop at threats. Would you???

So why are you bagging on the Mormons here and not those killing them???

Just like with any religion there are 'members' that may not actually follow the religion the way that is appropriate.

If this happened last week - that is horrible, and that 'mormon' is misguided and it is truly unfortunate.

No one should ever get a death threat for what they believe.

Well, you would obviously have to give more facts in order to adequately respond to your question. There are times when a death threat may be called for (I know God has given them a bunch of times), but there are also times the person may be acting in an inappropriate manner and not representative of their religion. So, who knows, they were either a Mormon listening to God or not so good of a Mormon.

Well nobody should be sending death threats to anyone. That person was obviously not a good Mormon or Christian. It has nothing to do with the person's religion though. There are people who make bad choices in every religion.

Not all Mormons are good and practice their faith, just like every other religion. It is not about the religion, but about the person that sent the death threats. Obviously, they are not living their religion, so it has nothing to do with th Mormons.

Really? Last week! Wow! It sounds like the Mormon you speak of, is having some major problems living this part of our religion.

But to answer your question, I would guess the same kind if it were Methodist and an ex-Methodist, Catholic and an ex-Catholic, Baptist and an ex-Baptist, etc.

i don't know, but I had a great uncle in the 1960's who lived in Mormon states and recieved death threats often. He was a Southern Baptist preacher and they did not want southern Baptists there.

When someone feels threatened or feels their beliefs are being attacked they respond in kind. Logic, reason and critical thinking do not come into play.

But like, that's just my opinion, man.
