I am going to name my baby boy Ty'Rique - and call him Ty for short. I want to know what middle name you like better - Rashaad or Travis. The father's first name is Travis, and he really wanted to name him Travis Jr., but we both decided on Ty'rique because Travis was too common of a name. Then when I asked my boyfriend what middle name he wanted, he said Rashaad. So tell me what you think of Ty'Rique Travis, or Ty'Rique Rashaad, or anyother good middle names that you like...

Travis Rashaad sounds much better because people are going to get Ty'Rique so wrong. For instance someone is going to forget to put that ' in very important paperwork or school records. Especially when he tries out for the team and misspell his name on the roster like they did my son! Or even when he fills out an application for that job and it is down to two people Ty'Rique and Brian, which one are they going to choose? I'm keeping it real!

Honestly and not trying to be mean but, Ty'Rique sounds and looks very ghetto. Maybe if you left out the aphostrophe it wouldn't be too bad, but ghetto was the first thing that came to mind and he will have to get a job one day. Other than that's not a bad sounding name and Rashaad goes well with it.

I think Ty'Rique is ridiculously stupid (don't get mad, you're the one who put it out here for all of us to critique, and I'm only being honest). Why would you do that to a child, if you theoretically love him so much? Additionally, in writing, it looks like a girls' name...the que at the end looks feminine. One other thing to consider...Apostrophes don't translate well on uniforms, email addresses or school attendance records...maybe you could leave that part out.

Travis is a perfectly fine name, and it would honor your husband to name your child after him.

If you're going to insist on Ty'Rique, I would probably go with the middle name Rashaad, because the initials look better, unless your last name begins with a vowel (I'd hate for his initials to spell TRY, for example).
