My doctor ordered a Comp Metabolic panel. What makes this different from the Complete Blood Count, which one is more comprehensive?

Comp Metabolic Panel consists of the tests for the following:-
Albumin
Phosphatase, Alkaline (ALP)
Calcium
Carbon dioxide
Chloride
Creatinine
Glucose
Bun
Potassium
Sodium
Total protein
Transferase, aspartate amino (AST)
Transferase, alanine amino (ALT)

they are completely different. one is testing your electrolytes, kidney function, and liver function(screening for organ function) and one is testing hemoglobin/hematacrit/platelets etc..things associated with the cellular makeup of your blood.
