Besides drinking fluids and keeping warm, how can you prevent everyday illnesses? Does it have to do with having a better immune system?

Getting sick has everything to do with your immune system. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to prevent yourself from getting cold due to new flu viruses emerging every year. Best prevention is to consume much B- vitamins and vitamin C during the colder seasons. Also, if in a crowded enclosed places, flu/virus can be extremely contagious. Take airbourne ( avail. at any supermarket) if around sick people.

The way most colds are passed is through interaction. Like shaking someone's hand. Wash your hands regularly. Get a flu shot. A better immune system, as opposed to no immune system would obviously be better but it's more of just washing your hands, drinking fluids, and keeping warm. :-)

If you don't want to get a cold of flu, live in a bubble or deserted island all by yourself.

Otherwise, there are no real prevention techniques. You can reduce the likihood of getting a cold or flu by washing your hands before/after going to the bathroom and all the other ways touted, but you're going to get one soonder or later.

Being exposed to a lot of germs early in life helps boost your immune system later in life. Don't be afraid of germs and don't take medications for the cold or flu (outside of ibuprofin for ackes and pains) because they don't work (they mask sysmptoms, do nothing to reduce or prevent the viruses that cause colds and flu).

I am not sure that you can guarantee to prevent a cold or flu. THey say getting the flu shot helps, but that is not proven due to the strand of the flu that is in the shot may not be the same stand going around. For a cold try cold-eze when you feel one coming on.

I haven't been sick in 7 years. Want to know why? Because I have done nothing to prevent it. By allowing myself to get sick as a kid, I built up an immunity to most common illnesses. I don't have to worry about keeping warm. It's 60 degrees Farenheight in this room and I have shorts on, with no socks. Let's also not forget that working out and keeping your body strong prevents illness.

Preventative measures to strengthen your immune stystem would be sleep more and at the right times (before midnight), take vitamins, especially vitamin C every day. Take a multivitamin every day.

Wash your hands all the time, and don't shake the hand of the person, or touch something that person has touched that is sick.

by washing hands regularly, eating, and vitamin C. And yes...some people will get more colds due to a slow immune system. And best thing is to stay out of the way of people who have the cold

You need to eat well and take a daily mulitivitamin that is well absorbed by your body and a good antioxidant supplement daily to boost your immune system. Get plenty of rest too.

Eating properly and getting exercise will boost your immune system. .....From there, you need to make it a point to keep your hands away from "moist" parts of your face (and your ears) because certain viruses and bacteria can make it into your body (because they were on your hands). .....Be sure to rub your hands vigorously while washing because it's the FRICTION that removes almost all the microbes ...not the soap itself.

Best of everything!

Eat healthy, take vitamins, exercise and get plenty of sleep. You could also try getting a flu shot and washing your hands more often. If you take care of yourself chances are you'll get sick less.
