You can check out photos on the knot of real weddings. They can be sorted by colors too.

I sent you an email with where you can see my pictures. But really you have to make some decisions based on what colors you like (I hate pastels--many brides use light blue, pink and none of those were even coming NEAR my wedding).

My recommendations are:
1) Try on every dress. Dresses that you don't think appeal to you. I knew I wanted a busy dress--lots of pearls, beads, lace--no plain smooth satin for me. But I hated strapless cause I thought I'd be pulling it up all night. Well I ended up finding a strapless that i loved!

2) Pick a date. You may have to change your date several times but there are just some colors that don't go. You tend to do bold colors in summer, pastels in spring, fall is gold, and winter affects the price and selection of flowers.

3) Figure out some color ideas that you like. If your dress tends to be a champagne or latte color, then you'll pick colors you like around that.

and then before you book anyone, figure out a budget! Everyone can help you out (florist caterer etc) once they know how much they are working with.

But after you have your date and dress, you'll find a vision just sorta jumps at you. You will see yourself in your dress and just envision walking through black and red formal room or a beach theme thats very casual and earthy. Colors are sorta last. There are 2 schools of thought on that. People either like contrast (like I did with blue and coral) or they like a similar palate. This year colors like sage and natural/sand/beige will be big together. Using 2 shades of blue, like light blue and denim blue. Thats gonna be really big this year. But colors are so personal--like my husband went to a college and his rival school wears light powder blue so he would have thrown a fit if i'd used that as one of my colors.

A wedding is based on your own personal idea of "wonderful". casual/formal, day/evening, skin tones of your bridesmaids (White girls look bad in yellow)--all affect your colors. There are tons of ideas but looking through others won't really help--what if they like colors you hate?!? (But I sent you mine anyway and hopefully you dont hate it) You'll see--it's not as stressful as you think. Everything will turn out just like you hope and be beautiful. Everyone will say you will be a gorgeous bride!
