Create as much consistency and regularity as you can for your dog including feeding times, walks, dog park times, outdoor time, etc. You didn't mention his age, but a puppy can't be expected to hold it longer than about an hr. per month of age and of course won't necessarily hold it that long before training.
Use a crate that is slightly taller than the dog is when he stands and just big enough to turn around in but not bigger. Don't put bedding, food or water in it and use the cab for unsupervised times.
When supervised, take your dog out for potty breaks regularly according to age. Take him again just before he goes into the crate and immediately after he comes out of it.
When you take him outside, take him to an area you want him to go at and tell him "Find your spot" or "Take a break" or whatever command you want to give to let him know it is time to go potty.
Take training treats with you to start and let him have one after he goes, and praise him like he just won a medal.
When he has an accident inside, tell him something consistent, like "NO potty inside" in a firm voice. Take him back to his spot and give him his command until he does something.
If he doesn't, don't scold him. In a calm manner take him back inside and put him in his crate for awhile. Take him out to potty as soon as he comes out.
Don't put blankets or towels in the crate because a dog will often potty on them and it defeats the purpose of using a crate.
With regularity and consistency, he should be trained in no time.
Some males "mark territory" by lifting a leg inside. If that is what you are talking about, someone else could better advise you.

Yes. When you see him squatting just about to go, gently pull him to the garden or any ouside space so that he will do it outside. Once he has, praise him galore and give him a nice treat. He will learn quickly.
Don't scold him if he has an accident, just say no gently and clean up. Once the deed is done he wouldn't know why is he being punished.

You potty train it. Well, my method is....when your dog pees, you shout, "NO!" and keep repeating it over and over, while carrying it outdoor right away. if you keep doing this, it'll soon realize it's wrong to pee inside the house. And if your dog is as smart as mines, he'll bark everytime he needs to go from then on! =)

i have two small dogs. a min pin and a daschund hound . there both really young so what i do is when i leave home i leave them both locked in a metal cage. i know that probably sounds bad but its not. i bought this tall wire fence and when i leave home i close the fence and make a little house for them, then when i get home i walk them and walk them

yes house train it ,everybody else has to do it
if you want a reasonable dog you have to train it
plenty of text available on how to do this or get a doggie instructor ,but that costs money

I just got the Nature's Miracle scented pads for my dog because he's injured and it's too cold for him to go out, and he seems to love them! Start there, then start moving the pads outside for him to go on. Then you can take away the pads altogether!
Here's another good site.

Good luck!

When it tinkles on the florr, run its nose in it. It sounds bad but it really disgusts them and they'll stop shortly after that :)
