Im 11 years old and i really like a guy. We hang out alot and have fun together, and i know he likes me. Im just kind of worried about what my parents will think if i start hanging out with him too much. My mom is kind of suspicious because i talk to him on the phone a lot. Im not talking about serious dating.

You are at the age where going to the movies with a group of friends, including the boy you like, and being picked up by your parents, is all the farther you should go. Wait till you're 16 to actually start dating, please don't rush into anything. My daughters do the movie thing, high school basketball games and bowling with groups of friends and they are 12. The boys are wanting to kiss them but they say they aren't ready for anything like that yet. A first kiss only comes around once in a lifetime so make sure it is one you'll want to remember. Take it slow sweetheart, enjoy being young.

I think it's normal for you to start dating and taking it seriously at 15 or 16. But you can start "dating" (holding hands, going on dates to the mall, breaking up after a week) as early as grade 5. Although I wouldn't consider these serious relationships, just have fun with your young love, but I guarantee when your 16, you'll look back at this and think "I was so cute and innocent". This will not be counted as a huge life changing relationship in your life.

If you are just talking about a puppy love kinda thing then about 13 to 15; real dating around 16... 11 is way to young for a boyfriend... what would you do together? You need to make friends right now and worry about boyfriends in a few years!

15 is the average age when dating seriously, but I starting dating when I was 13. Parents at first say "no,no," but they rather accept the relationship than loose a daughter. Luck!!!

there is no average. It is whenever you are mature enough to be a dater. Who's the judge of that you. You determine it by your actions. you determine it by showing trustworthiness and steadfastness. If you parents see that you are with good company and you possess those features, you should be okay.

If you feel you really like him, then go out with him now, but don't let your parents know. I was 11 once, good times.
