Of course. We cannot affect the Suns output or the Earths orbit around it. At some point the Earth will emerge from this ice age as it always has in the past. Is the current interglacial warming at its' peak or continuing? Perhaps a better question is 'Can we learn, understand and adapt or are we doomed to repeat our habit of fear, panic and accusation that has cost us so much for so long.'

Well, i'll break it down to you in FACT or FALSE:
FACT: Global warming is part of a natural cycle. Extreme heat and then Ice Age of Extreme cold with each cycle taking 150,000 years. Human's are the cause for irregular climate changes and we have been the reason everything is off tilt. On charts, we have already gone, in temperature, 2 to 3 times higher on the graphs than the past 3 Global Warmings and is contunueing to rise.
False: It is too late to stop global warming from going beyond fixable. This is false because most experts agree we have a 10 year window of oppurtunity to change the way things are going to happen. We will never be able to stop it even if all vehicles and power plants were rid of for a full year. The damage has been done and is going to continue to get worse.
We can choose massive changes or devastating consoquences. Both are not intrigueing but if we change now, it won't be so bad for our children and younger family members.

The answer to your Question depends upon the cause of the global warming. If the Earth is coming out of a cool period and the warming is mostly due to natural causes, then no, humanity can not.
If, on the other-hand, the burning of fossil fuels and making cement are the main causes (due to the production of green house gases) then humanity has the ability to slow it down even if it cannot be stopped.
The fact that the atmospheric temperature is rising is no longer in doubt. (see the first site below) The cause of this warming is full of bias and assumptions. If you check out the carbon cycle (second site) you will see than human activity (at 5.5 billion tones per year) is relatively minor compared to natural sources of Carbon dioxide.
The other greenhouse gases are similar. Data is still being collected.
By the way... Global warming is not as harmful to Mother Nature as it is to humans. The vast majority the wildlife including microbes and plankton will not be greatly effected if the polar ice caps melt. Humanity, on the other hand, will be greatly disturbed and disrupted if the water level rise only a couple of feet.

First you assume that there is global warming. Well maybe maybe not. Second, you assume that humans are they cause of it. If humans are the cause then yes. If they are not then there is nothing anyone can do. The Earth will do whatever it's going to do.

no, of course not, we cant change the effects it has had, but we can stop it by walking to work and using alternative transportation for example
