Typical situation. Our kitty was eating on almost every plant in the house, so I bought some cat green seeds. Now have a nice crop and he won't touch them. Still eating everything else that's green. I put them right by his food bowl like the directions say. Would appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks

Hi Kathy...consider rubbing dried catnip and sprinkling them onto the cat greens and see if this will entice your kitty to take interest. To safely discourage your kitty from eating the other plants consider using a pet-friendly spray deterrent called Grannick's Bitter Apple® http://www.grannicks.com found worldwide at most pet stores.

[edit] please avoid using mothballs. They are considered toxic and should NOT be used. Here's more information on this:

MOTHBALLS are toxic to cats which contains the ingredient Naphthalene. Mothballs are approximately twice as toxic as paradichlorobenzene, and cats are especially sensitive to naphthalene. Signs of ingestion of naphthalene mothballs include emesis, weakness, lethargy, brown-colored mucous membranes and collapses. Paradichlorobenzene mothballs may cause GI upset, ataxia, disorientation, and depression. Elevations in liver serum biochemical values may occur within 72 hours of indigestion.

I actually gave in and got rid of my house plants. Before that though, I put my cat on an indoor formula cat food and this seemed to help for a while. Also look at you local grocery store for organic wheat grass. Its the same grass they sell at the specialty pet stores but much cheaper and already grown. My cat goes crazy for this stuff.

Place a mothball into the dirt of each plant. The cat will hate the smell and more than likely go to the greens you want her to eat. You can also use Cayenne pepper in a spray bottle with water and spritz the plants you don't want her to eat. I'm not sue which ones but some house plants are harm full to cats.

Cats are funny acting animals they never want what they can have they all ways seem to be hard headed and eat the things they are not suppose to. i bought my cat fefe (rip) a water fountain and she refuse to drink from it she would rather drink from the sink, i never really understood her to well lol

Get a guinea pig to keep him company. Of course he won't eat it, he's a cat, god forbid he do anything you wanted him to or that he was supposed to do.

Yes. Get him "Greenies" as a snack. They will also help his teeth stay clean. Just don't give him too many, or he may want them instead of his food.
