I'm interested in finding an affordable, but high-quality school to get a Private Pilots License in the Chicago area.

If you are willing to travel a bit north I would suggest The Westosha Flying Club located @5k6 in Kenosha County Wisconsin. Very affordable and friendly instructors. I also heard Stick&Rudder out of Waukeegan is O.K.

Start asking around at some of the airports, the ones with restaraunts where you can sit and drink coffee and hang out with the airport "bums". Roughly what area of Chicago are you in? Would help.
