If your discharge is otherwise honorable, that is all they need to know.

Also that military record just isn't as important as it once was.

A dishonorable never looks good though.

It'll matter if you try to get a government job, especially one with a security clearance.
For any other civilian job, though, it probably won't matter too much. Just don't lie on your application or resume. That's instant grounds for dismissal pretty much anywhere.
