Usually. But beware, sometimes Microsoft may include something you might not want, like Internet Explorer 7. Review the list each time.

And make sure you are getting these from Windows Update and not some spoof site pop-up that is trying to load spyware.

Update Update Update !!! An un-updated and un-patched Windows is a magnet for malware. Go to Windows Update website and download all critical updates. It may take several trips to WU, because there are actually patches to some updates. Keep going back to WU until you have them all.
