Silly Chili Dogs

1 Chili No Beans (15-ounce) can
1/2 cup hot dog relish
8 beef hot dogs
4 hamburger buns split

Combine chili and hot dog relish in a 4-cup glass measure. Cover with a paper towel and microwave at HIGH 3 to 4 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Using kitchen scissors, make diagonal crosswise cuts into hot dogs cutting to, but not through the opposite side. Place on microwave-safe plate, cover with a paper towel and microwave at HIGH 4 to 6 minutes, or until hot dogs are thoroughly heated and curled. To serve, spoon chili onto a hamburger bun half; top with a frankfurter.

You could sub hot dogs or fish sticks for the chicken here.

FRESH FRUIT KABOBS
8 skewers (9 inches long)
1 orange, peeled & sectioned
1/2 c. melon chunks (1 inch chunks)
1/2 c. Pineapple chunks (1 inch chunks)
1 sm. bunch Red or Green Seedless Grapes
2 c. lemon, orange, or vanilla non-fat yogurt

On each skewer thread orange sections alternately with melon and pineapple chunks. Place a grape on each end of each skewer. Serve with yogurt as a dip.

You can even have them make their own veggi kabobs. depending on their age of couse, would determine how much help they would need with the oven or grill. The grill works best, but the broiler works great too. Have them marinate the veggies in italian dressing. Use low fat ranch dressing for a dipping sauce.

My children still love to make their own kabobs. They are 12 and 9 now, but I started this when they were 3 and 6. Not to mention it's a great way to get them to eat their fruits and veggies!!

i would reommend buying one of those five ingredient cookbooks. All the recipes require 5 or less ingredients and tend to be super easy. I am sure there is a kids' version out there. y'all have fun!
