It was actually on Monday, its because its a brandnew year, and its always after the business of christmas and new years, ppl want to start a new life, and monday was the first day that people feel theres time to sort it all out, the divorce rates are at there highest on monday 8th january

People don't usually want to breakup during the holiday season. Therefore, they wait until after the holiday season. It's now enough time after the holidays for people to start doing their breakups. Plus, some people just want their presents before they breakup with that someone.
