Jonathan Edwardson used Bible literature to invent his own interpretations of what "hell" and "damnation" is. With this interpretation, he was able to scare many people into the faith in which he practiced. Does this mean he was correct? Let's examine this.
First of all, where does the word "hell" come from? Hell comes from an old German word "Hoelle" which means the grave. This was used with the Biblical word of Gehenna. Gehenna is a town referred by Jesus where the evil doers would be tossed into. Sounds like Hell? Let's see. Gehenna was a name of a town who maintained a constant burning fire outside it's walls. This fire helped to burn the towns trash...as well as those criminals that finally died and did'nt fit to be properly buried. They were tossed to burn in this fire. Hence the term from Jesus, "thrown into Gehenna." Fire is a metaphor constantly used in the Bible as the final destructive force. With fire, you destroy anything completely. Fire was used as a destructive weapon in the Old Testament when God, "rained down fire" in different passages.
Now what about the term Lake of Fire? In Revelations, God promises to throw Satan and Death into the Lake of Fire. How can you throw death into a Lake of Fire? This is another metaphor showing how fire is used as an explanation for the final destruction of Satan, as well as death. In other words, no more dying will happen in this future world.
So, has anyone seen any "hell"? Let's remember Lazarus. He died for a few days. Jesus resurrected him. Did Lazarus give stories of any heaven or hell? No! He was dead, or in a non-existent state. Even Jesus said that Lazarus sleeps. Death is a deep sleep....no memories....no feelings...no feeling of the passage of time....nothing. In the Bible, you're only hope is the resurrection back to life.

hell wasn't made for humans initially, it was made for satan and his fallen angels who rebel against God.

Satan is the chief sinner and all who sin are his children and will spend eternity with him.

But mr. Jonathan Edwardson has it all wrong. God is not waiting nor wanting to judge and punish sinners. read Psalm 63,107 read Isaiah 63 vs. 7 you will find God is a God of loving kindness and forgivness. do not be scared of God just because you sin. God will forgive you and help guide you back to Him.
But be afraid if you die without His son Jesus Christ as your savior.

The anguish of hell often depicted by physical fire is SEPARATION FROM GOD. Those who don't want to be God's children and do not seek Him will get their wish when they die.

They will NOT be with God.

But evidently they will know what they are missing and this eternity alone and unloved will be without hope of redemption.
Have you ever felt completely alone and unloved? Rather horrible.

Isa 55:6-7

6 Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way
and the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
(from New International Version)

Not all sinners will burn in Hell; only those who hate God. I'm a sinner, but I've asked Christ to forgive me and make me a new person, and He has.

The Bible has hidden meanings meant to be understood only by those who are ready to decipher its messages. All the saints that I know (not only christian ones) used a coded language.
Fire belongs to the world of matter...so can we say that there is such thing in a spiritual world? Therefore, fire is used symbolically.
I doubt that there will be any devils waiting to set you on fire...but I'm sure that your conscience will torment you more than any earthly fire :)

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

Think of this what was the original sin???

The Knowledge of good and evil!!

Without knowing good and evil we would be incapable of making any choices! So unless this God wanted us to be lap dogs it hardly makes sense that why knowing good and evil would be worth eternal torture!!

But then again I am not an evil sadistic fantasy God!
