I currently have a tutor at my school. She has been tutoring me for the last month or so. She is not in my grade, a grade higher then me. I noticed that she sometimes looks at me, and stretches a couple times in 30 minutes when I get tutored. We laugh with eachother a little bit, but not much. When she sees me in the halls, she smiles at me. I got her a gift for Christmas, and the next day she got me one too.
How do I know if she likes me?

I am pretty shy and I don't know if I could ask her. She is really nice also.
What nice comments should I say to her, to maybe find out if she likes me kind of?

Don't ask. She is helping you and that's it for now. Let her keep helping you. If you want to know if she likes you you can always ask when your tutoring is over this way you won't make her helping you awkward.
If you really need to know you could ask her if she knows anyone that wants to go to the next dance, State that your not looking for anything more than what is expected for the night, you just thought she would have insight into a decent girl. Don't expect her to say "take me" but if she does set up she'll hear how a perfect date you were. If you are going to a dance, you have to dance and not just to slow dances. If you can't dance then maybe that could be your second question. Would you teach me to dance so I don't look all the other guys out there?
And if she sets you up with someone not of your liking she may be testing you and not being mean. Be a real man and take your time your still young.
You really can't give her a compliment to find out if she likes you. It is like the present did she have one for you or did she get you one because you got her one. It seems that she is nice enough but to find out without prying is a little hard when no one here knows her but you. What type of girl is she. What crowd does she run with? What grade is she in? Find out what band she likes or a book she likes and ask her a question about that. Something simple but not to personal just something that gets her to talk about her. And if she don't talk much maybe she is shy too.

Give it time.
I'm sure she likes you. What do you want out of it. Make a goal and reach it. If you don't want anything serious than just enjoy the flirting... that's always the best part anyway!!!

Well talk to her friends an find out. Her (girl) friends, of course. If you can't, try talking to her about it. Or try asking her out.
