In full the model would be:
Golf Grand Tourer Turbo Diesel Intercooler
the 'di' is for Direct Injection' - a version of diesel engine.
not exactly a 'sports' version - but certainly gives more power compared to an older style engine.
There is a 99% chance it will be the PD "Pumpe-Düse" (unit injector) engine.

Good evening. In answer to your question, if it is definately a 2000 model, it is a pd engine.
Hope this helps.

P.D model, It means part donkey. Nothing like a neat/cool (ha ha ha) little red badge on your car to make you look a boy racer, are you sure it's not a beer bottle top stuck on, most MAJOR car owners would take the pi55 out of you.

hi there, from what I already know, depending on which letters are red indicates the level of power output and interior style.
I have yet to learn more and everyday is a school day.
