Just broke up with my girlfriend, because she is being controlled by her little brother. Her brother controls who she dates, reads her emails, and since they share a phone he wont let her talk to me. From what I understand her brother was making threats towards her if she gets caught talking to me. Is it possible that a woman can get scared out of a relationship and did I make a mistake by leaving her instead of helping her.

They are both 19 years old, but she is only 9 months older than he is. Me and her brother have never really got along. According to her friend this is whats happening. Her parents don't care and I have tried everything, but can't get through.

Yes...many women are quite shy and timid and can be scared easy into doing things. Hard to say if you made a mistake though....she could be a lost cause.

This is her little brother?
Why doesn't she smack his head into the wall like a good older sister does!

Well...if you witness this little brother's weird controlling behavior first hand, I'd say you are lucky to be away from that family including your g/f who listens to him.
ODD!

If this is what your g/f is telling you about her little bro and you do not have any personal knowledge of it, then she might be lying to stop you from seeing her.

Who knows...its all so weird to me.

If the little bro is hitting on your g/f, call child protective services on the parents for allowing this to happen.

Hey Man,

Thats not easy. At the moment its all a challenge because its not coming easy. Can you please take my advise? Find something that is easy and flowing, because you can fight for her and thats what she wants but she wants you for her freedom and you want her to conquer. Once you have her you will have to keep up the same as her brother otherwise she will betray you later down the track. So you will live a life of not knowing what she is really doing. Yes you love her but love is so changeable. Let her and her brother go, you will be a much better man for it rather than a frustrated individual who simply wants to express his love and goodness and not able to do so. Someone else for you. Stop mucking about.
Cheers.

It does sound as though she's a lost cause unfortunately, but hopefully there might still be a chance. I'm sorry to say it but she sounds a bit weedy if she lets her brother tell her what to do. No-one tells me what to do, but if your girlfriend is that scared of her brother maybe that's why she lets him get away with it. If you get a chance to speak to her without him intercepting your message etc, maybe you could tell her that you love her and you won't let anyone hurt her, but that if it really is her wish not to see you, then you will respect her decision.

Sounds strange that a little brother { if in fact this is really the case and NOT a lame excuse to NOT date you } has control over his big sister to this degree. Why don't you talk face to face with her brother? Be cool with him and honestly explain how you feel about her. Good luck.

It sounds strange. How old is this little brother? I would have talked to her and told her your concerns before breaking up with her. Where are her parents in this matter? You said from what you understand.... To me, there seems to be more to the story that is missing. This sounds weird. I hope you sat down and talked with her before you broke up with her. You were her boyfriend after all, so you obviously had some time to spend with her. ????? Confusing.

I think she wanted to break up with you and used the "little brother" as a whacky excuse so she wouldn't hurt your feelings. She could have easily stopped him from reading her emails by changing her password. If a person is threating harm to another, then call the police.

She listens to him, so she obviously has issues.

Well done for breaking up with her.
You can't scare someone, they can only scare themselves. She can only help herself, you can do nothing apart from forget about her.
