When converting to a religion, sometimes, the religion puts a mark on you , for example, if it is christianity, it's baptism, it's judaism, it's ,circumcision, islam, (I don't know for sure ), voodoo (spiritual bath), Wicca , consecration to divinity ...but, the question, I am asking what to do with those marks when leaving the religion for another one ...for example, christianity ...for islam, or christianity for voodoo ..? how do you consider them when leaving the faith for another ? something those marks are associated with powerful teachings ...? do you think it is possible to ignore or get rid of them ..?

What you are talking about are not marks but a symbol of your acceptance to that faith. If your faith weens while practicing then you are no longer accepting that faith, therefore you are not marked by that faith. Baptism is simply a way of saying you accept Jesus as the savior. Circumcision is not optional. If you are born into the faith your parents make this decision for you. This is the case with most religions. As an adult you have made up your mind that you no longer wish to practice that religion. With book religions I believe it is easier to change. With other religions such as Vodou and Santeria it is a little more complicated. When you agree to initiate in these types of religion it is a lifetime thing. And you should be told that from the beginning. You can practice them and not initiate but once you take that step it is very hard to rid yourself of it. However there are ways to do. As someone said there are cleansing and purifying rituals for every religion. And before you take that step to start in a new religion with the "marks" you should always be cleansed by a priest or elder of that religion. I don't recommend initiating in to a bunch of religions. You practice what you want and initiate only into the religion that you honestly feel will be the religion you will practice for the rest of your life.

I'm not sure, but when a friend converted to Catholicism before she got married, they put salt on her tongue to cleanse her of any other religion's forces.

When you find your true path.....you then convert to it....excuse all other "marks" or beliefs you had before....and go on......it's simple as that.....if you don't you will be at war with your soul forever...
