Many things.... he could have had strep throat or mono or it could've just been your conscience getting the best of you. Your body can make you feel physically ill when you are stressed out or feel that you did something wrong... it is almost as if the brain punishes you. I would go to a doctor though to rule out the first two maybe's... and definitely get tested if you thought it was a bad idea. You can get HIV, HPV which leads to cancer, genital warts, and a number of other STDS without even penetration. Rubbing is enough to contact anything...

well it's probably not from the kissing. was his penis in your throat? that'd explain it. it's also possible that you got an infection from him. Also, ask him to get tested for Aids. 6 years in jail can make a man go crazy. not saying he's gay or accusing him of anything but... it's better than you getting aids
