Why are illegal aliens getting free medical care while Americans must pay or face legal action ?

Because many immigrant mothers cannot afford to pay for prenatal care or delivery services, New Orleans’s newest citizens are adding an unexpected load to the decimated health infrastructure in a city abandoned by many of its doctors after the hurricane.

Some 18 months after the hurricane struck, much of the public hospital system, remains closed. But pregnant immigrant women who don’t have health insurance don’t have that choice anymore. “Prenatal care is our daily nightmare,” said Shaula Lovera, programme coordinator for the Latino Health Access Network.

The two health units providing prenatal care run by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals saw more than 1,200 pregnant women — almost all Latino immigrants — from January to mid-November.

Before the hurricane, only two per cent of patients were Hispanic. That figure is now 96 per cent. The maternity clinic, previously held two days a week, is now held five days a week.

Does this show that illegal aliens are getting free health care costing tax payers millions of dollars?
How can illegal aliens afford to have such large families when we are told they make $ 3.00 an hour ?

The lie that illegals only make 3.00 an hour is BS.. very few illegals if any work that cheap.. Most of them get $10 an hour (Americans would be getting $30 an hour).. They have 20 people living in a house ALL who get food stamps which they in turn can sell and get more money.. They don't want the kids, they just know they can get more money that way..and cheat the system to do it.. I wonder how many of them actually come here at 7 or 8 months pregnant just to have the kid so they don't have to pay.. Americans quit getting benefits after 2 kids and MUST work so many hours to get food stamps... They are getting them because they say they have no income... Of course, they just want a better life.. BS.

Careful, now! We don't want facts and figures around here! Just say something nasty; provide some excuse for these knowingly deceptive folks to use the "R" word.

When facts are quoted, the picture is pretty clear. The law and order that’ve made us the richest nation on earth, that law and order is being trampled by lawless behavior. And the "law" looks the other way.

I don't think it's one party or the other. No money in that. But there’s both money and threats among drug cartels.

The fact that a great nation - great because of a solid foundation on law - is clearly being rotted out by either disdain for law or little concept of its value wouldn't hurt quite so badly if it weren't our home.

Those who enter illegally, by definition, have no value for law. As their numbers skyrocket, those who respect law will become the minority. When that happens, the nation took over will be become the one they left – jobless, lawless, a place of people desperate to escape.

It seems the country whose method failed would be learning from the one that succeeded. Instead, the lawless will destroy them both.

It is just how the system works. But I just can't see why complain about that, when the US is providing medical for the Iraq, Africa and all over the World. Not even a forth of what they spend in other countries do they spend on these illegal aliens.

It's just not right at all!! My husband and I both work and we have no insurance coverage and we avoid going to the Doctor for everything and it should not be this way in the United States, Its too bad the government and hospitals care more for illegals than they do the people who are US residents.Its not right and it has to stop!

Bush and the Republicans could have done something but refused and the Democrats wont even though 80%+ want our borders shut down.

I don't vote for either party anymore, gave that up 8 years ago.

they are making way more than that and i know a few who while they work under their fake I.D.'S their wives are getting goverment aid and one i know one who is married to a American woman she getting state help and 4.000 back on her income tax and he works under the table tax free 15.00 dollars a hour so do the math.

$3 an hour is probably what they make in Mexico. Do you think the day laborers and house cleaning ladies make $3 hr? Come on. I know a house cleaner that makes $50 on one house doing minor sweeping, mop, vacuum. At 3 houses a day that makes $150 which comes out to $18-$19 an hour. Be realistic. The unborn children dont deserve not to be healthy because their parents are illegal.
