recently because of the emotions ive been having ive ended up getting angry at stupid things. earlier today i had an arguemen with my mum and i ended up telling her to **** off, and i DO swear way too much. recently my dad has been telling me to stop swearing especially at my mum, and i am trying but its hard to control some of the things i say. just before my dad came in and closed the door, then he threatened me and told me that if i ever swore again hed knock my tooth out.he held me by the neck when he said it, and i had this urge to hit him in the face as hard as i could.i hate having these uncontrollable emotions.my dad is really awesome so i dont want to ever have to do anything against him,i know this has nothing to do with bipolar but i just want to know if there is any way i can stop swearing without a swear jar.

Ah, just practice at. My brother (who is only 11) keeps saying those things to my mom and gets in trouble. He's trying. He supposedly "censors" himself. And my mom also had I problem with swearing. She had a "Kitty Box" it's where she would put a quarter into it every time she said the word "f***". ^_^ It'll take time, that's all I can say. Also, your a teenager, it's normal to have those emotions. (Believe me, you're not the first to have the urge to hit someone in the face)

Actually, it CAN have something to do with Bipolar Disorder. Impulsivity and rapid mood swings can make you less likely to control your outbursts.
If you go back to your psychiatrist, he/she can adjust your medication to reduce your impulsivity and allow for more time to think before you speak. A psychologist can work with you to teach you some strategies for coping.
BPD is a tough one to manage, but it can be done if you work at it.
There is a great new book called, "Bipolar Disorder for Dummies", written by a woman psychiatrist. I think it's the best one on the market. Try Amazon.com to find a copy. Your family will be much more sympathetic about your problem, and you'll learn a lot, too.
Good luck!

the anger is what has flying off the handle, and that's part of bipolar
does everyone else in your family curse?if they do its kinda
programed in your head.esp if its only done when they are angry
as far how to stop.say sorry when you do.and try substitute words
like fudge, frail.i love ding dang dong it.keeps you from doing a whole line of words.well for me any way.mostly you need to think
before you speak.but are you getting help for bipolar?if not you
need to.it is hard to control a chemical imbalance.and ask everyone to be patient with you.you are trying.as for dad he should not be getting psychical.it only makes things worse.
