My boyfriend (who I love very much!!) I think, is trying to pull a fast one, please correct me if Im wrong..
We have been together 4 years (he is 9 tears my senior) when I met him, he had a car and (and among other things!_ two children (from a previous relationship)
Since we met we now have two gorgeous children (under 3) and share the house with his 16yr old, every other weekend we have his 8 year old come and stay. Before we lived together which was only since August we both had a car each, since living together my boyfriend has not had a car. He seems to be happy with the arrangement, stating he cant afford a car (when in all the 23 years he's beenm driving he's never been without a car!) He works full time, and I work 3 days a week. He has a company van (that cant accomodate children) so that means every day I go to work, I have to drop the kids off and pick them up.If an emergency occured it would be up to me to go and collect the children. He also works closer to nursery.?

You didn't need to air this dirty laundry unless you wanted others to agree he is trying to get out of caring for some of the delivery needs of the children--You already know that he is--He can afford a car--he just know that without one you are sole responsible for all of it--And so your point would be???

Is your problem the lack of a car, or the fact that you're shacking up with a man, creating babies out of wedlock, and exposing children to this rather than behaving like role models?
He told you he is happy with the arrangement, and that he can't afford a car.

Kids are expensive. Be grateful you can walk to pick the kids up from school. Have you ever wondered what a bus is....?. If an emergency came up, you'd manage, believe me.
Count your blessings and stop whingeing.

start taking him to work if he has a work van. If he is working full time and you part your home with the kiddies more than him, you should have a car in case of an emergency.

he's doing that so he doesn't have that responsibility to pick up kids and dealing with them. When you don't work you drop off the kids and change it when you do work and have him drop you off and keep the car. it's 50/50 just because your not married doesn't mean anything. you have to sit down and talk when your not frustrated

We are 2 plus 3 kids. 1 car and a mini van. We manage O.K , its "our" car, not his or hers.
Just get a Ford Galaxy or something instead and both contribute.

Talk to him, he needs to share the responsability. He likes it because he has you and his family but doesnt have to deal with the big part of it (helping out) you two are both suposed to give, not you give and he receive. If he dont want to reason then leave him and hit him up for child support.

Welcome to the wonderful world of mommy hood, where generally it is the women missing work for the kids.
Seriously though, you could go find a cheap used car, either from a car lot or from the newspaper.

Tell him you can't afford a car either but improvised to get one because you know it's a necessity. Tell him to do the same, he works more hours than you do.
