You should try and take your Ritalin at least six hours or more before bedtime. Other side effects are dry mouth, weight loss, growth retardation and headache. Report any side effects including your insomnia to your doctor. Chew sugarless gum for a dry mouth.

The best medication for ADHD is Strattera.

It is a Non-Stimulant prescribed medication for

adults & children who suffer from ADHD.

Any other medication for ADHD "Will" have

some, or possibly many negative side effects!

"And also will cause a chemical dependency!!!! "

Strattera's clinical studies have proven it to be

very successful for 98% of people with ADHD !!

Also, the simple 4 step, 15 min. a day, practice

of The Mindfulness of Breathing, taught by

Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn PhD. greatly reduces most

of the negative symptoms of ADHD! And it

is easy to learn. Considering we have 24 HRS.

in a day, 15 min. is nothing. Dr. Kabat-Zinn has

an excellent book out called: "Coming to Our

Senses" where he teaches the simple tech-

niques of Mindfulness of Breathing to erradicate

Many of the symptoms of ADHD, as well as

anxiety, poor concentration, worries; and teach

es how to remain calm mentally in the presence

of stress and adversity. Through the practice

of Mindfulness of Breathing one's cognitive area

of the Brain, The Frontal Lobe, is highly stimu-

lated, greatly improving one's memory, concen-

tration & focus.

Some people that have ADHD have a slight, or

occasionally severe problem with anger,

irritability, and impatience. There is an

Excellent book out called: "Working with Anger"

By: Thubten Chodron, which teaches

important, very helpful information on how to

deal effectively with our anger, in a healthy

wholesome manner. It teaches how to cultivate

the alternatives to anger. The book is not

critical or judgmental toward people, but very

postive in every way. It is very encouraging &

helpful. Have an excellent 2007' Year.

Hope this information helps.

It should help you to think more clearly - to focus. You shouldn't really be 'feeling' much of anything from it. When you take this at the proper dose and have ADHD it really helps with a lot of the ADHD symptoms (assuming this particular medication works for you.) If you are not noticing any changes at all in your symptoms, you may want to talk to you doctor about trying a different med or changing the dose.
