Yes. It's OK.
If you do it, make sure to use the real bottles and bottle caps, not the screw top caps.
We were cheap in college and the beer went flat.

Yes, I'm an avid homebrewer. Do you have a question about homebrewed beer or homebrewing? It's as simple or complex as you want it to be, as can the beer you produce. STAY AWAY from those beer in a box / mr. beer / the like. Find a local homebrew supply store to get you started with the real deal. It's a rewarding hobby or an all-encompassing lifestyle. A great resource is morebeer.com

I tried it once. I guess i didnt do anything right though. I was trying to use a big 20 gallon drum to brew it in but it was to big to keep in the kitchen or the closet. I put it out on the deck and screwed down the lid ring and about noon that dang ole thing split the seam on the lid and spewed stuff all the way into my neighbors porch. I dont know what went wrong but it was really hot that day and my exbrother inlaw didnt measure all the stuff like he should have. I guess it all worked out OK cause it really smelled BAD.
We had to move our trailer somewhere else pretty soon after that the neighbors were all mad cause they thought we were moonshiners I guess. Maybe I'll try it again someday.
